Anti-wrinkle treatment

Crow’s feet, frown and forehead lines are wrinkles formed by repeat contraction of facial expression muscles. With aging, sun damage, smoking and stress skin starts loosing collagen and begins to show lines and creases. As such the most efficient way to prevent or treat those wrinkles is to relax the muscles responsible for their formation.
Neuromodulators injected into the target muscle interrupt the transmission of neural signals and prevent the muscle from contracting and as a result smooths out the wrinkles.

The most popular treatment option for craw's feet, frown and forehead lines is neuromodulator injection of Botox, Nuceiva, Xeomin or Dysport.
Administered correctly by an experienced practitioner, this treatment will subtly smooth and soften the skin wrinkles without affecting your normal facial expression.
This effect lasts 3 to 6 months and depends on the dosage injected and your body’s ability to regenerate.
Frequently asked questions
How long does the procedure take?
The procedure itself takes about 10-15 min. However, prior to the injection detailed examination of your face expression, muscle strength and position is undertaken. Every face is unique and despite the fact we all share some anatomical similarities, there are differences in muscle distribution, thickness and involvement in forming the wrinkles.
Also, there is some difference in muscle strength between the left and right side of every face, that in some people is very apparent. There are differences in dosage and distribution between male and female patients. While women target some degree of eyebrow lift, men prefer a more horizontal eyebrow line, and this will affect the points needed to be injected.
Asian patients in comparison for example to a Caucasian ones tend to develop fewer wrinkles and generally require a lower dose of the medication.
All these factors should be taken into consideration by the practitioner performing this treatment.
Also during the initial consultation, your past and current medical history will be reviewed, as well as any previous aesthetic treatment you have had, in order to identify any potential contraindications.
So, as a result, you should expect 30-45 min to be spent in total on your first treatment.

How much Botox do I need?
An average female patient may require anywhere between 35-50 units for combined treatment of crow’s feet, forehead and frown lines. However, some patients would prefer treatment of an isolated area and below is a quick guide for Botox dosages.

Your tailored treatment dosage and injection pattern will be estimated during the free consultation that is mandatory prior to any treatment.
How much does the procedure cost?
It will depend on the dosage you will require. Our regular price is 10$ per unit. Check our ON SALE page for the current sale offers. We also offer a special discount program for our repeat clients.
When do I start seeing improvement in my wrinkles?
Within 5-10 days you will see the muscle relax and wrinkles will be less visible or start to disappear. However, for deeper and older wrinkles, it will take a longer time to smooth them out.
How long does the effect last?
The effect lasts 3-6 month, but often, even when your muscle strength comes back to normal, you still don’t see the wrinkles yet. The best time to return for a repeat treatment is when those lines begin to bother you again. However, some patients prefer to have it done earlier in order to prevent them showing up.
At what age should I start this treatment?
There is no definitive answer to this question. However, cosmetic injections of the neuromodulators are not recommended for patients younger then 18 years old. However, the likelihood that one may develop wrinkles at this age is extremely low. Majority of patients start this treatment in their 30's and 40's, however, we have treated much younger patients who have already developed their frown lines in their 20's due to excessive sun exposure, genetics or frowning habits.
Are there any other options for anti-wrinkle treatment?
Absolutely! Though the neuromodulator treatment is the most efficient way to correct lines caused by facial expression muscles, you can also target them in a different way by building up more collagen and elastin through some of the extensive options of skin rejuvenation procedures.
In any case, it is very important to avoid stress, smoking and sun exposure. Additionally, healthy eating and a good lifestyle help slow the aging process. Face creams with anti aging substances such as peptides, growth factor and hyaluronic acid should be part of your regular routine.
What are the side effects of Botox, Xeomin, Nuceiva or Dysport?
All these medications are Health Canada approved for anti-wrinkle cosmetic treatment and have a similar safe profile with most common side effects being rare (1-5%) and temporary. These may be:
redness or bruises on the site of the injection
eye lid edema
eye dryness
eye lid ptosis
